About the Role
MasTec Communications Group is seeking a skilled Copper Splicer to join our team. As a Copper Splicer, you will be responsible for supporting all phases of utility construction for various types of telecom projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform Copper cold splicing and activation
- Install and test pressurized and non-pressurized enclosures
- Install and dress Copper cables, both vertically and horizontally
- Test and troubleshoot Copper cables by utilizing all forms of testing equipment
- Forward/reverse sweep and network verification
- Maintain Copper asset inventory and splicing records
- Splice Copper line extenders and drops
- Lockbox installation and activation
Requirements
- Safety is a part of your day-to-day
- You have a track record of completing work with a high level of quality
- You have a knack for figuring out hard problems and enjoy a hands-on approach to your work
- You are looking for long-term projects
- You enjoy getting your hands dirty with your team
- You have a valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record
- You have at least 1-3 years of splicing and sweeping
- You are comfortable working on a ladder or bucket truck
- You can read and comprehend schematics, and preparation of all job-related work reports
- You have experience using electronic test equipment
- You have knowledge of cable size, gauge, count, and colors of direction
