Copper Splicer - Utility Construction Specialist

About the Role

MasTec Communications Group is seeking a skilled Copper Splicer to join our team. As a Copper Splicer, you will be responsible for supporting all phases of utility construction for various types of telecom projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform Copper cold splicing and activation
• Install and test pressurized and non-pressurized enclosures
• Install and dress Copper cables, both vertically and horizontally
• Test and troubleshoot Copper cables by utilizing all forms of testing equipment
• Forward/reverse sweep and network verification
• Maintain Copper asset inventory and splicing records
• Splice Copper line extenders and drops
• Lockbox installation and activation

Requirements

• Safety is a part of your day-to-day
• You have a track record of completing work with a high level of quality
• You have a knack for figuring out hard problems and enjoy a hands-on approach to your work
• You are looking for long-term projects
• You enjoy getting your hands dirty with your team
• You have a valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record
• You have at least 1-3 years of splicing and sweeping
• You are comfortable working on a ladder or bucket truck
• You can read and comprehend schematics, and preparation of all job-related work reports
• You have experience using electronic test equipment
• You have knowledge of cable size, gauge, count, and colors of direction
