Details of the Training
- Participate in a 3-4 week, PAID, hands-on training program focused on learning the basics of shipyard work as well as welding and ship fitting techniques.
- You will learn applicable safety protocols and how to maintain a safe work environment.
- Assist in various welding and fitting tasks and projects under the guidance of the Training Manager.
- Engage in continuous learning and skill development to prepare for future opportunities within the company.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Basic mechanical aptitude.
- Strong reading and comprehension skills.
- Strong willingness to learn and improve skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
- Availability to work from 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (Monday-Thursday) and 6:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (Friday).
- Ability to come to work regularly and on time.
- Ability to work in outdoor conditions subject to both extreme heat/cold temperatures.
- Ability to enter and work in confined spaces.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, crawl, lift and climb ladders.
- Ability to work in high places.
