Description : Job Summary :
The Warehouse Associate at Master Boat Builders, Inc is responsible for assisting in all warehouse operations within the shipyard, including the receipt, storage, and dispatch of materials and supplies. This role supports the overall shipbuilding operation.
Requirements :
Duties / Responsibilities :
1. Inventory Management :
Responsible for checking in incoming material against supplier packing slips.
Help maintain accurate records of all incoming material and report any discrepancies.
Picking and filling material issue requests.
Assist in storing and distributing shipyard materials, parts, and supplies.
2. Logistics and Operations :
Assist in efficient layout and organization of the warehouse for optimal storage and retrieval.
Dispatch materials to various departments and ships within the shipyard.
Assist in coordinating logistics for deliveries and shipments coming into the warehouse.
3. Safety and Compliance :
Maintain safety procedures for warehouse operations, ensuring compliance with industry and shipyard safety standards.
Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials.
Required Skills / Abilities :
Attention to detail and accuracy in inventory management.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Safety-conscious mindset.
Ability to prioritize tasks.
Education and Experience :
3 years of experience in a warehouse environment, preferably in a shipyard, heavy industrial, or construction environment.
Experience with warehouse operations.
Experience with shipping / receiving and FIFO stocking.
Familiarity with shipyard materials and tools is a plus.
Knowledge of pipe, valves, and fittings industry is a plus.
Physical Requirements :
Ability to work in a shipyard environment.
Ability to lift and carry objects up to 50 lbs.
Significant time spent standing up and walking around.
Ability to bend, reach, climb ladders.
Ability to operate warehouse equipment like forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material handling tools.
Ability to wear personal protective equipment.
Working in a shipyard involves exposure to extreme weather conditions like rain, heat and cold.
