Job Summary
To develop, employ and manage a true continuous improvement process within our North American business. With dedication and discipline, this position will be the pivot for information gathering (CI improvement targets), delegation of investigation to functional experts, and the driver of collaboration to implement improvements/change that will result in operational efficiency, financial improvement and service excellent/differentiation that will help MBS to grow our business profitably.
Responsibilities
- Full implementation and continuation of Project Alice across North America (reduce incomplete orders), strong collaboration with transportation and sales.
- Regroove the non-conformance management (NCM) process to properly record, report, investigate continuous improvement targets (areas for organizational improvement).
- Work with functional leaders and CLT to establish annual Continuous Improvements CI targets/KPIs; help develop dashboard for reporting and tracking organizational and functional progress.
- Align and collaborate with other EHSQ roles and the EHSQ Manger as the CI support team of investigative experts to pursue and manage NCMs and claims that require root cause analysis to find solutions and fixes.
- Provide progress update to any VCP workstream with focus around CI projects that this position will lead or strongly influence, accountable to results.
- Review and offer input to any Standard Operations Procedures and policies that need refresh from Continuous Improvement (CI) learnings that can improve our execution and results. This will require close collaboration within extended leadership team, including providing some frequency of update/progress reporting.
Education
- 4-year degree.
- 3-5 years’ experience with continuous improvement and quality processes. Strong understanding of our business from the order to cash process is desirable.
Skills and Knowledge
- Functional experience and knowledge of our business processes (or a very similar business) is important to be able to navigate and drive a Continuous Improvement (CI) program.
- Good analytical skills with practical approach to providing leadership with options in how we navigate challenges and solve problems.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a team collaboration mind set; at times will need to lead calls and drive actions, while also able to play support role and collaborator.
- Good communication skills up the chain of command, within peer network, and in representing the organization to external agencies, vendors, and customers.
- Good English grammar and speaking skills.
- Self-motivated with a structured working style, discipline with deadlines and timeliness with administrative duties
Travel
- Travel required to sites and sales regions when necessary (<15% travel)
