Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced commercial construction Project Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for analyzing project specifications and requirements to prepare accurate cost estimates for commercial construction projects. This role requires a strong understanding of commercial construction management principles, as well as proficiency in various estimating software tools. The Project Estimator will work closely with Project Managers, Contractors, and Clients to ensure that all estimates align with project goals and budgets.
Duties
- Review and analyze project plans, specifications, and contract documents to determine scope of work.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor services.
- Utilize estimating software.
- Collaborate with Project Management teams to develop budgets and timelines for projects.
- Conduct site visits to assess conditions and gather necessary data for accurate estimates.
- Monitor project costs throughout the lifecycle of the project to ensure adherence to budget.
- Assist in the preparation of bid proposals and presentations for potential clients.
- Maintain organized documentation of all estimates, contracts, and correspondence related to projects.
Experience
- Proven experience in construction estimating or a related field is essential.
- Familiarity with commercial construction site operations and contract management is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of cost control measures and pricing strategies within the commercial construction industry.
- Proficiency in commercial construction estimating software preferred but not necessary.
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy in calculations.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective collaboration with team members and clients.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
