Draftsmen
We are searching for a Order Processing Drafter to create clear, precise, and accurate technical drawings and detailed working plans based on the provided specifications and calculations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in 2D CAD and a working knowledge of 3D modeling software. Proficiency in DraftSight and SolidWorks is highly desirable. This role is critical in bridging the gap between engineering, manufacturing, and sales teams. Success in this position requires:
- Meticulous Documentation: Ensuring all technical drawings and project details are accurately recorded and updated for consistency across departments.
- Sales Collaboration: Working closely with the sales team to understand client requirements, provide timely updates, and deliver solutions that meet customer expectations.
- Manufacturing Alignment: Spending time in the manufacturing environment to ensure designs are practical and production-ready.
- Cross-functional communication: Maintaining open lines of communication across teams to address challenges, clarify specifications, and ensure seamless project execution.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Utilize computer-aided drafting (CAD) software to create technical drawings.
- Configure livestock trailers utilizing internal tools and processes.
- Generate and maintain engineering documentation for livestock trailers. This includes the incorporation of change orders, redlined drawings, and detailed sales drawings.
- Manage trailer options, provide recommendations, assess for interference, and implement new designs.
- Maintain and update trailer models to reflect current specifications and design standards.
- Support the shop floor by communicating and troubleshooting new/existing designs to streamline production.
- Ensure that final designs comply with regulations and internal quality standards.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Skills for this Position:
- Familiar with manufacturing processes and equipment, including fabrication, machining, CNC operations, welding, and assembly.
- Proficient in using PC, Office 365, and related software.
- AutoCAD/DraftSight and SolidWorks knowledge.
- Knowledge and experience of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with a systematic approach to problem-solving and the ability to work on complex issues independently.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and teamwork skills, with a proven track record of initiative and integrity in professional settings.
Qualifications
Requirements:
- A relevant certificate from an accredited college or technical school, 2 years relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening is required.
- Random drug testing required after employment.
