The hiring range for this position is $61,000 to $87,000 base salary dependent on experience. Commissions not included in base salary.
The Outside Sales Representative is responsible for networking to grow existing business and obtain new business in both the Light Truck, and Heavy-Duty markets. This position is responsible for performing at a high level of customer follow up while using professional sales tools and processes necessary to earn new business.

Sales Opportunities 50%
- Develop and implement strategies to identify potential customers (leads) who have shown interest or might be interested in the product or service for comprehensive account growth
- Executes strategies to follow up with leads after initial contact or a sales presentation to successfully convert sales leads
- Utilizing CRM tools to manage customer data, track interactions, and automate sales processes
- Establishing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders building a broad network can lead to more referral business and better market intelligence.
- Attend and participate in trade shows/networking events representing the company's brand and connect with individuals with our products
Quality Customer Support 25%
- Quickly and correctly identifies the customer's question, issue or problem and recommends the best product model or most efficient solution to address the inquiry with minimal hassle for the customer
- Establish and maintain excellent relationships with key personnel at all aftermarket customers, distributors, dealers, fleets, and end users, in an assigned territory.
- Utilizing knowledge of the product to anticipate potential questions or issues customers might have, addressing these proactively in discussions.
- Promptly and appropriately responds to all inquiries or feedback within the response time goals
- Maintains a positive and friendly attitude towards all of our customers
- Establish and maintain excellent relationships with key personnel at all aftermarket customers, distributors, dealers, fleets, and end users, in an assigned territory
Product Knowledge 20%
- Displays a deep understanding of our organization's products key features, benefits and services and how customers use them
- Skillfully demonstrating the product's use and capabilities in a way that highlights its features and advantages, often in a hands-on manner that is easily understandable
- Applying product knowledge to solve problems or suggest solutions that are specifically suited to the customer's circumstances, demonstrating both understanding of the product and empathy for the customer’s situation.
- Continuously seeking new information about current and upcoming products, updates, and industry trends to stay informed and ahead of the curve
Product Presentation and Education 5%
- Skillfully demonstrating the product's use and capabilities in a way that highlights its features and advantages, often in a hands-on manner that is easily understandable
- Represent Merritt Aluminum Products at customer events including open houses, fleet nights, industry trade shows, and sales campaigns
- Develop and present presentation and hands on training to various audiences of different sizes and levels of knowledge

Qualifications
Educational and experience requirements include:
- High School Diploma, Associate's degree or an equivalent level of training or experience
- Relevant experience in other sales or customer service positions, or an equivalent skill set
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 75% of the time with varied work hours.
- Strategic thinker with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to learn and apply new sales processes and strategies
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills including presentation, public speaking, including written and verbal communication.
- Self-starter who is flexible, highly adaptable, and able to work at a fast pace
- Strong planning, organizational and project management skills with the ability to multi-task and assimilate new information quickly
- Ability to develop detailed knowledge of Company products, features and benefits
- Strong computer and software skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
