What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dock Builder position at Master Docks, Inc?
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Work Order Preparation:
- Review upcoming jobs and ensure all required materials are available.
- Maintain and repair tools as needed, informing management of replacement needs.
- Safely load and transport materials and equipment for each job.
- Drive and operate boats, trailers, and other equipment safely, using spotters for backing up.
- Keep work areas organized to increase productivity and ensure safety.
- Work Order Completion:
- Take "before" photos of job sites upon arrival and "after" photos upon completion.
- Write daily reports detailing progress, what was done, and materials needed for the next steps.
- Work with your team to complete jobs efficiently and with high quality.
- Ensure that jobs are completed on time, even if they require early starts or overnight stays.
- Equipment Maintenance:
- Keep trucks and boats clean, removing trash and debris at the end of each day.
- Ensure all tools and equipment are in working order and report any issues to management.
- Refuel trucks and boats as needed, ensuring tanks are no less than ¾ full before returning to the shop.
- Perform daily safety checks on trucks and trailers, addressing any issues immediately.
- Perform minor repairs on equipment, and notify management if further repairs are needed.
- Ensure personal tools are well-maintained and replace any missing or broken tools promptly.
- Yard and Lake Lot Organization:
- Organize the yard, ensuring good floats are stored in the correct area and work floats are in their designated place.
- Dispose of scrap materials in the appropriate containers and keep decking materials organized.
- Safely back trucks and trailers into designated spots and keep the yard clean.
- Container Management:
- Maintain an organized lake team container, keeping racks, floors, and tools in place.
- Inventory supplies regularly and replace items as needed.
- Keep the container clean, locking it when finished, and report any discrepancies to management.

Schedule:
- 40 hours over Monday to Friday, 8 am - 4:45 pm. Hours worked will vary as required to fulfill on the Deliverables, travel distances and with seasonality.
- Full-time position with overtime available (paid time and a half for hours over 40 per week).
- Early start times with potential for extended hours.
- Overnight stays may be required for jobs more than 2 hours away.
