A recycling company located in El Paso is looking for a careful, certified forklift operator to move bales of recycled material around our facilities, and load and unload trailers, flatbeds, and containers. Responsibilities:
- Operate a sit-down forklift safely and efficiently around heavy machinery.
- Load and unload bales of cardboard and paper from incoming vehicles, including trailers and flatbeds.
- Transport raw materials to production workstations.
- Sort and place recycled material through a production line.
- Help maintain a safe and orderly environment in the facility.
- Perform routine maintenance and daily inspections on equipment, including lubricating, fueling, and cleaning.
- Keep a supply of wire on hand for the baler.
- Operate forklifts, bobcats, or other equipment to move material to designated areas.
- Keep surrounding work areas clean.
- Unload, tag, and stack material in proper rows by raising and lowering the lifting device.
- Load and unload materials into or out of trailers and flatbeds.
- Move material from the baler.
- Dump containers, bins, and gaylords of materials.
- Ensure truck drivers stay in their trucks while loading/unloading material.
- Comply with all safety policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Complete necessary load and unload tally sheets.
- Inspect and grade wastepaper received at the plant.
Required Skills:
- 5 yrs. experience as forklift operator
- Attention to detail and familiarity with industrial equipment
- Excellent physical condition and coordination
- Valid certification to operate forklift
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Exposure to dirt, odors, noise, and weather extremes throughout the workday is required.
- Able to lift 50 lbs.
Summary
As a Forklift Operator and Material Handler, you will be essential in ensuring the efficient movement of materials within our facility.
