JOB IDENTIFICATION

REPORTS TO: Plating Manager SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None
POSITION SUMMARY
Work within a production team to meet production goals and meet part specific requirements for plating. Work within a plating team to meet to ensure chemistry is within operational parameters, tank equipment is maintained, racks are maintained, equipment/line operation and accurate treatment and disposal of chemistry. This position is expected to assist in the continual improvement and strengthening of the Master Finish Company Plating processes by performing full plating operations, tank maintenance, solution maintenance, rack maintenance, chemical treatment and disposal, and cross-training within the plating team.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
(Tank Maintenance, Solution Control)
- Basic comprehension of plating processes, line operation, line start up and shut down
- Able to make necessary adjustments according to work being ran including rectification, temperature, solution/water flow, station shut down, etc
- Attentive to line operation, continually monitoring all dynamics
- Load plating line with attention to all applicable details to ensure quality results
- Able to maintain and check pH, feeders, temperatures and complete required reporting
- Understands and performs solution adds per TrueChem correctly and on time
- Knowledgeable with customer/vendor base and part numbers
- Frequently monitors plating results, reviews parts and understands plating defect causes and how to prevent them
- Understands and follows applicable processes
- Embraces and examples good housekeeping and required safety practices
- Maintains positive attitude, willing and able to help train others if necessary
- Frequent and thorough communication to entire team of all operational issues or concerns, actively participates in all shift exchanges and applicable meetings
- Comprehension of plating defects and how to trouble shoot them, monitors part quality continually, works with inspectors and QA data to react to issues promptly
- Understand and implement the ISO 14001 EMS and 9001 QMS policies as they pertain to the position, and perform internal audits of those policies and procedures
- Treat plating solutions per Master Finish procedures
- Ensuring all relevant equipment is functioning properly
- Understand federal and local regulations of all waste water treatment
- Understand chemicals and their uses in treatment
- Participates in cross-training to be able to operate, start up, shut down, troubleshoot, maintain, etc. for Rack Strip Room, Hoist Line, Barrel Line, Pre-Plate, Waste Water Treatment, Solution Control and Tank Maintenance
- Perform lock-out, tag-out on necessary equipment
- Fulfill all other duties as requested by supervisor
RELEVANT JOB SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE

WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Close-toed shoes are required when working in and around production areas
- Temperature of manufacturing plant can become humid and hot
- Follow general safety guidelines and procedures when working with and around machinery
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- (May) require standing, twisting or bending for 80% or more of the shift
- (May) require lifting and carrying up to 70 lbs.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
REQUIRED:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Proficient Computer Skills
- Excellent Communication Skills
PREFERRED:
- Degree in related experience
- High Organizational Skills
