Job Description
The Metrology Services Technician will be based out of the Master Gage & Tool Co. lab in Greenville, SC. This technician will work with current staff to meet in- lab calibration needs, while traveling to onsite customer locations on an as needed basis. This technician will report to the lab manager and will be the primary technician sent out to customers’ site on an as needed basis. The In-lab work will consist of work in the Gage Block Room, along with hand tool calibrations, fixed limit gage calibration, torque and surface finish gage calibration. Onsite visits will encompass calibration of hand tools, torque, hardness testers, comparators and eventually form equipment. Onsite travel territory will be customer sites in the Carolinas. Metrology Service technician will work with current on-site technicians to train on preferred calibration methods and processes. Additional responsibilities with onsite jobs include:
- Cleaning, labeling, recording data for all calibration items.
- Maintaining updated calibration procedures.
- Transportation and maintenance of calibration equipment used for onsite calibration.
- Calibration of equipment used for onsite calibration work as required.
- Generate certs and or reports for calibration items.
- Assist Metrology Services Manager as needed.
- Request orders for parts and or supplies pertaining to onsite calibration work.
- Has signatory approval for work performed onsite at customer's facility
Desired Skill and Expertise:
Dimensional Calibration, Previous work experience with high accuracy calibration equipment, hardness tester and comparators, Quality Control, In-Depth experience with calibration of inspection hand tools, Dimensional Inspection Equipment and Mathematics Skills and Blueprint reading experience
Desired Education:
Community College or Military with Metrology Experience
