Master-Lee Engineered Products, Inc. is currently seeking candidates for a full-time Shop Technician position. As a preferred vendor of specialized tooling and associated maintenance equipment supporting the commercial nuclear power industry, Master-Lee Engineered Products, Inc. has been consistently growing and is now in need of additional shop support personnel. The Technician candidate will be responsible for product assembly, testing, troubleshooting, maintenance, inventory control, and packaging. The ideal candidate shall possess a high mechanical aptitude, a general understanding of electrical wiring and electrical tools, and the ability to operate electrical and pneumatically powered shop tools safely and proficiently. The candidate shall also have a basic understanding of mechanical drawings and electrical schematics. The candidate shall demonstrate the ability to effectively communicate with the Engineering group, Management, and with the other technical support personnel to provide technical feedback, relay inventory status, provide schedule updates, and to coordinate product ordering.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor and maintain product inventory in conjunction with sales order activities, weekly and monthly.
- Works closely with engineering staff to assure that production operations run at maximum efficiency and quality, with a minimum of downtime.
- Works as part of a production team to assemble parts.
- Assembles electrical components/wiring using standard hand tooling and electrical components.
- Performs functional testing, pressure testing, load testing, etc. in accordance with written or verbal instructions, procedures, or standards.
- Construct shipping containers using standard power tools and lumber.
- Read and understand mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
- Works in a Team environment
Knowledge, Skills, Experience, & Abilities:
- High mechanical aptitude with proficiency in mechanical and power hand tools.
- The ability to work in an environment requiring a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to solder and wire assemblies in accordance with production drawings.
- Ability to read, comprehend, and adhere to specific instructions.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in a Team environment.
- Ability to perform basic machining operations using a mill and/or lathe. [Not required but is preferred.]
- Ability to perform basic welding operations. [Not required but is preferred.]
Requirements:
- High School Diploma required; additional education/training preferred.
- Computer skills preferred, Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook, QuickBooks.
- Background investigation required.
- Must pass pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.
- Valid Driver’s license
