The Master Power Transmission (MPT) team is looking for a highly motivated and strategic Materials Manager who will oversee the day-to-day quality activities of the Columbus manufacturing facility including the direct management of 3 Materials employees.

Essential Functions

Responsible for overseeing the planning, procurement, storage, control, and distribution of materials and products,

ensuring the right quantity of material is available at the right time to meet production requirements while optimizing inventory levels and minimizing costs by managing vendor relationships and negotiating prices. Will lead the team responsible for purchasing, inventory control, shipping, receiving, and material storage/handling.

Inventory Management

  • Monitor and control inventory levels to ensure sufficient stock is available for production while minimizing excess inventory.

Procurement

  • Source and negotiate with suppliers to secure materials at the best possible price and quality.

Demand Forecasting

  • Analyze sales data and production schedules to accurately forecast material requirements.

Purchase Order Management

  • Create and manage purchase orders to ensure timely delivery of materials.

Supplier Relationship Management

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key vendors to ensure reliable supply and address quality issues.

Cost Management

  • Analyze spending on materials and identify opportunities to reduce costs.

Reporting and Analysis

  • Generate reports on inventory levels, purchasing trends, and cost analysis for management review.

Team Leadership

  • Manage and develop a team of purchasing agents, inventory specialists, and warehouse personnel.

  • Extremely proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Planning: an ability to think ahead and plan over a 3–6-month time span.
  • Management: the ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
  • Experience managing a team of people
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, industrial engineering, or related discipline.
  • 5-10 years' experience in Manufacturing Engineering preferred

  • Demonstrated knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the above-mentioned tasks.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $95,000.00 - $135,000.00 per year
