What are the responsibilities and job description for the Project Manager/Construction Estimator position at Master Renovations Inc.?
Master Renovations, Inc. is a small construction company located just outside Orrville, Ohio. We are engaging, rewarding and supportive.
PROJECT MANAGER:
A Construction Project Manager is responsible for overseeing construction projects from planning to completion, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. Key responsibilities include:
1. Project Planning: Defining project scope, goals, timelines, budget, and resources.
2. Team Management: Leading and coordinating construction teams, including contractors and subcontractors.
3. Cost Management: Establishing and controlling project budgets, including estimating, bidding, and procurement.
4. Scheduling: Developing and managing project schedules, including setting milestones and deadlines.
5. Quality Control: Ensuring projects meet quality and safety standards, and complying with regulations.
6. Risk Management: Identifying and mitigating potential risks and issues.
7. Communication: Coordinating with clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders.
8. Site Management: Overseeing construction sites, including ensuring safety and enforcing regulations.
9. Problem-Solving: Resolving conflicts and issues that arise during projects.
10. Reporting: Providing regular project updates and progress reports to clients and stakeholders.
ESTIMATOR:
Knowledge of PROCORE ESTIMATING or other similar estimating knowledge is highly desired. Knowledge of google drive, cloud storage and office software are also favored.
Strong communication skills (email, phone and in person) and attention to detail are a must. MRI communicates daily with outside General Contractors, building owners, laborers/subcontractors, suppliers, architects, etc. Job duties include reading project plans/specs, measuring and counting multiple sheets to obtain material quantities, obtain labor and material pricing, put bid packages together, submit bid packages, and pass complete project information to the project manager.
Driving to pre-bid meetings/site visits, and job site meetings is a requirement.
BOTH POSITIONS:
Training will take place initially in our office but once we feel you have a good handle on things, average workdays can be transitioned to work remotely. We generally meet as a team in the office at least once a week, so candidates should live within a comfortable driving distance of the office. Driving to pre-bid meetings/site visits, and job site meetings is a requirement.
Working hours are generally flexible as long as required meetings are attended, deadlines are met and communication achieved.
Pay will depend on experience and performance; the more you bring to the company, the more the company will bring to you! Working from smaller projects up to larger ones will result in more pay. Benefits include access to a gym and CrossFit classes.
