Description
SUMMARY
Responsible for direct oversight of the day to day operations of the facility and provides general and immediate response to client situations. Also, responsible for providing assistance in the supervision of facility clients and ensures a safe environment is provided for all.
PRIMARY DUTIES
- Assures that Daily/Weekly/Monthly schedule of chores are completed by residents in a satisfactory and timely manner.
- Assigns tasks to clients of INNterim and assures they are carried out satisfactorily.
- Assures that bathrooms have sufficient personal supplies on a daily basis.
- Ensures responsibility for the safety of the facility daily and respond appropriately to emergencies.
- Assumes responsibility for observing when maintenance supplies need re-ordering and informs the Assistant Director accordingly.
- Ensures a peaceful and respectful atmosphere in all programs.
- Participates in education group with clients as assigned.
SECONDARY DUTIES
- Assumes responsibility for storing maintenance supplies in proper location and keeping an adequate supply available for daily use.
- Observes where repairs/replacements may be needed and reports same to shift supervisor for direction and follow-up.
- Completes client behavior reports when necessary.
- Writes nightly update in communication log.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES
- Assists with and attends special events held by the Center and St. Vincent de Paul as necessary.
- Upholds the vision, mission and values of St. Vincent de Paul.
- Meets regularly with supervisor and attends all staff meetings, trainings, and other meetings as required/directed.
- Supports a welcoming and positive environment for volunteers and works with them effectively.
- Performs other duties as assigned within the scope of the position.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to read, write, and speak English.
- Ability and willingness to relate with others in a respectful manner, and work well as a team member.
- Ability to maintain professional boundaries with program participants, and to refer participants appropriately to case management staff.
- Sensitivity to the needs and concerns of persons who are materially poor and/or homeless, and the ability to be comfortable working with persons of all socioeconomic, religious, and ethnic backgrounds in a non-judgmental manner.
- An understanding and respect for the confidentiality of clients.
- Ability to organize oneself, ones work, and other persons sufficiently to accomplish the required daily tasks.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- High School Diploma. AA degree preferred.
