Job Description: Technical Project Manager
Role: VITA - Technical PM
Location: Onsite, 4 days a week

About the Role:
The Technical Project Manager (PM) will oversee the Virginia State Police (VSP) Net project, managing the transition from a legacy service to the VDN-managed platform with Verizon. This role requires both strong project management expertise and technical knowledge in data and networking technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure Verizon/SAIC PMs remain on track and provide project updates and reports to leadership.
- Oversee the VSP Net project, ensuring milestones and deliverables are met.
- Respond to and resolve agency and customer escalations effectively.
- Manage and assess data networking technologies, operations, and broadband circuit portfolios.
- Perform operational assessments for the VSP transition project.
- Track project progress and report status to VITA leadership.
- Oversee the entire lifecycle of data networking services, including planning, operations, and financials.
- Collaborate with vendors and contractors, ensuring compliance with service management best practices.
- Manage multi-location network deployments and solutions.
Recommended Knowledge/Experience:
- Hands-on experience with data and network monitoring technologies, standards, and practices.
- Strong understanding of general network technologies and project management methodologies.
- Familiarity with contract and vendor management, particularly in outsourcing or shared services environments.
- Experience working with state agencies or government projects is a plus.
- ITIL Foundations certification is desirable.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience deploying and managing network solutions across multiple locations.
- Strong understanding of service lifecycle management, including financial and operational aspects.
- Ability to communicate technical information effectively to stakeholders and leadership.
