Job Description
The Materials Manager is responsible for all receiving, storage, picking and replenishment activities supporting a $100m kitchen cabinet assembly plant. One of the key responsibilities of this role will be developing and deploying best practices for day-to-day operations. This includes receiving, storage, inventory control, customer backorder recovery, space planning, 3PL management, optimizing pick locations, establishing pick locations for new product launches, ensuring accurate transactions from team, and delivering on time to production. The leader will be expected to accomplish this through effective mentoring, coaching and lean practices. Key objectives will include safety, quality, productivity, cost, customer service and inventory accuracy.
Responsibilities
- Performance of the receiving and put away team. Including receiving, storage, inventory control, customer backorder recovery, space planning and 3PL management
- Performance of the picking and replenishment team. Including inventory control, on time delivery, escalation of quality defects
- Meet objectives related to safety, quality, productivity, cost, customer service and inventory accuracy.
- Implement best practices through MasterBrand defined lean practices including Kaizen events, value stream mapping, problem solving, A3 action planning and standard work.
- Utilize a data driven approach to ensure workflow, customer service and storage optimization. Anticipating issues and taking action to resolve bottlenecks and inefficient material flow.
- Regularly audit current practices to challenge the teams, bring awareness to opportunities, and to make sure that continuous improvement becomes a mindset
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering or Supply Chain Management
- Minimum of 3 years management experience in manufacturing, warehousing or distribution
- Experience with Lean Management
- Experience with warehouse management systems
- Expertise with Excel, PowerPoint
