Job Description
This position will create, and support product configuration (bill of material creation and maintenance) as required within the Sioux Falls cabinet line portfolio with primary focus in the framed cabinet line. This position will become well versed in product knowledge to support business requirements for new product development, product changes and continuous improvement. The position will provide frequent interaction with multiple MasterBrand departments including Product, IT, Operations and Materials. This position will function as a bill of materials system specialist to develop flexible capacity of product configuration specialist, lead BOM related projects, troubleshoot system issues and support continuous improvement of MasterBrand business systems.
This is an individual contributor role based at our Sioux Falls, SD facility, and will be part of the Product Engineering team.
Responsibilities:
- Develop Bill of Material structures in PRMS configured business system for new products, product changes and continuous improvement projects.
- Detailed navigation within databases, spreadsheet programs, and report writing software utilizing various computer-based information systems.
- Learn other cabinet brand’s business systems & product structures by engaging in cross-training to create position back-ups and increase flexible capacity / team bench strength.
- Understand shop floor paperwork and support required changes to manufacturing paperwork and work schedules.
- Support engineering by creating bill of materials in the PRMS system.
- Attend weekly product team meetings and complete actions as assigned.
- Perform testing and conduct audits of own / others work to verify system accuracy.
- Use knowledge, skills, and abilities to support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives.
- Ability to troubleshoot systems problems: explain issues and test, provide reliable solutions.
- Work directly with on-site Product Engineering, Operations and Materials on projects related to product updates and introductions.
- Perform other tasks as assigned at management’s discretion.
- Ability for occasional travel as business needs requires.
Qualifications
- Associates degree or similar technical background preferred.
- Experience in ERP configured product systems preferred, including troubleshooting system issues.
- Cabinet construction knowledge and experience highly preferred, manufacturing experience required.
- Working knowledge of product Bill of Materials and related ERP systems.
- Comprehensive understanding of Boolean logic.
- Experience with Microsoft applications including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Experience with SQL systems applications.
- Ability to read drawings and understand technical content.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
