Company Description
The Production Supervisor may supervise one or more areas of the shop floor to support the manufacturing, loading and shipping of all orders to meet and exceed the customers quality and delivery expectations, while maintaining established safety and cost standards. The Production Supervisor must understand and support all plant safety procedures and ensure all operators follow Standard Operating Procedures.
Job Description
- Effectively work and communicate with a team to continuously improve quality, safety, efficiency, and productivity
- Oversee production lines, review downtime causes and be actively involved in issues on the floor by assisting in troubleshooting and problem solving
- Update Daily Management board and provide corrective action steps to concerns online
- Schedule production for the department and meet production requirements
- Coordinate requirements and schedules with other departments
- Mentor, coach and counsel production employees
- Supervise up to 30 production hourly employees
- Review, adjust and approve timesheets daily for direct employees
- Adjust work force based on workload
- Troubleshoot and solve production problems
- Evaluate and improve production efficiency
- Follow company policy and procedures (safety, quality, productivity, discipline, order, human resources, and continuous improvement)
- Drive & Implement improvement & Lean initiatives
Additional Duties:
- Some extended hours & weekends as necessary
- Support additional lines as needed if other supervisor is off work
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Must be able to work second shift hours (4:30 p.m. - 3:30 a.m.)
- Must have a High School Diploma or GED
- Supervisory & Quality experience is a plus
- Bilingual is a plus
- Proficiency in basic math skills
- Excellent communicator, both verbally and written
- Knowledge of machinery and packaging equipment a plus
- Good decision-making skills
- 6-S & Lean Manufacturing experience a plus
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office
