Overview :

Mastercard is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to join our Access to Capital team, part of the Small and Medium Enterprise Engineering group. In this key leadership role, you will drive the design, development, and delivery of robust, scalable, and high-performing software solutions that empower small and medium businesses.

As a Lead Software Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping technical strategies, guiding the engineering team, and ensuring the successful execution of projects.

Small Medium Enterprise Engineering's organizational goal is to build innovative solutions and products that enable Mastercard to provide competitive solutions to small and medium businesses.

Role :

• Find solutions for complex software problems across services and facilitate cross-functional team interactions to drive resolution.
• Write secure, high-quality code to build and improve services while advocating for code reviews, scanning, and adherence to development best practices.
• Define, design, and implement scalable solutions to meet evolving business requirements.
• Define and drive architectural decisions, ensuring scalability, performance, and alignment with business goals.
• Champion best practices such as test-driven development, code reviews, CI / CD, and observability to deliver reliable, maintainable software.
• Inspire and mentor engineers, fostering a collaborative, innovative, and inclusive environment. Provide feedback and technical guidance to ensure team growth.
• Drive prioritization decisions and trade-offs in working with product partners
• Identify opportunities and build roadmaps to enhance primary service / function.
• Identify bottlenecks in development workflows and implement improvements to drive team efficiency and productivity.
• Lead incident resolution efforts and ensure root causes are identified, with solutions implemented to prevent future occurrences.

In line with Mastercard’s total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary based on location, experience and other qualifications for the role and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role.
