Role
The Vice President of Policy Communications and Corporate Affairs, reporting to the Senior Vice President of Communications, North America, will serve as Mastercard's lead for U.S. policy communications and corporate affairs. This individual will oversee public policy narratives, corporate positioning, crisis and issues management, and executive visibility, ensuring cohesive and compelling engagement with key stakeholders, including policymakers, media, regulators, and customers.
This role is ideal for a seasoned public affairs professional with deep expertise in Washington, D.C., coupled with corporate communications and crisis management experience. The successful candidate will leverage Mastercard's global impact to build trusted relationships and amplify its role as a leader in payments innovation.
Key Responsibilities
Policy Communications
- Lead Mastercard's public policy and regulatory communications, partnering with the Washington, D.C., legal and government relations teams to articulate Mastercard's policy positions, navigating emerging issues under a new administration and Congress.
- Build Mastercard's reputation as an advocate for innovation, cyber-security and economic development, collaborating with communications, marketing and business unit teams.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with policy-focused media and analysts to ensure visibility and credibility in Washington, D.C., and beyond.
- Collaborate with internal teams to proactively identify emerging policy issues and develop messaging and engagement strategies.

In line with Mastercard's total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary based on location, experience and other qualifications for the role and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role.
