Job Summary:
We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Paint Line Supervisor to oversee the first shift operations of our paint department at the Mauston location. This position plays a key role in maintaining high-quality standards, ensuring timely production, and promoting a safe and efficient work environment. The Paint Line Supervisor will lead and mentor paint line operators and team leads, drive continuous improvement, and support overall plant goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervision & Team Leadership
Supervise floor leads and paint personnel on the first shift.
Provide hands-on leadership and mentoring to ensure consistent performance and team development.
Support cross-departmental collaboration to ensure seamless production and communication.
Paint Line Operations
Oversee all online and offline paint processes, including prep, masking, finesse, rework, finishing, assembly, and final inspection.
Ensure parts meet quality standards and customer specifications.
Monitor and troubleshoot equipment, robot performance, and paint consistency.
Perform and analyze defect tracking, offering improvement solutions based on data.
Process Improvement & Training
Support trial events and assist with process development to enhance uptime, quality, and efficiency.
Work with CI (Continuous Improvement) efforts to reduce waste and improve performance.
Provide training and ensure validation of procedures across all paint-related operations.
Propose cost-effective methods and improvements to leadership.
Assist in the design and implementation of fixtures, tools, and process aids.
Safety, Compliance & Quality
Ensure a safe working environment and promote PPE usage at all times.
Coordinate safety training within the paint department.
Monitor and maintain environmental compliance in painting operations.
Serve as a liaison between production, quality, engineering, and maintenance teams.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational training preferred.
2β5 years of experience in a manufacturing setting with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
In-depth understanding of industrial painting techniques (powder coat, wet spray, etc.).
Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to read blueprints, work instructions, and technical specifications.
Familiarity with OSHA and environmental safety standards.
Proficient in production tracking systems and basic computer use.
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) a strong plus.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with noise, fumes, and dust.
Regular use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
