Chip Spinning Process/Custodian
Summary:
The Chip Spinner & Custodian is responsible for processing all the metal chips through a metal chip spinner removing the oil from the chips and then recycling the oil back to the machines and depositing the chips to the appropriate hopper outside. Also, responsible for general housekeeping & maintenance throughout the plant such as trash and cardboard removal from designated areas.
Responsibilities:
- Collect chips
- Process chips through one of the metal chip spinners located in the production areas
- Raise the metal totes containing the chips to the opening of the spinner using an electric crane with hoist wearing a hardhat & gloves
- Empty the chips into the spinner and close & lock the door at the top making sure it is secure
- Start the spinner to remove the oil from the chips
- Recycle the oil that has spun out back to the machines
- Deposit the chips to the large hoppers outside
- Collect all cardboard & trash from designated areas throughout the day
- Clean break areas kitchens and meeting rooms
- Vacuum hallways
- Clean restrooms
- Other general tasks as needed
General Obligations:
- Be punctual and have a good attendance record. The Production Manager must approve any time off requests in
advance
- Work in a safe & orderly manner, promptly reporting personal injuries & unsafe conditions to a Safety Team Member or Production Manager depending on severity of the condition,
- Protect & maintain equipment & materials from damage and loss
Qualifications:
- High School or GED graduate
- Self-motivated, works well with others
- Good attendance record
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand for several hours climb stairs and lift or move up to 50lbs. The employee must have the ability to read, listen and communicate effectively in English verbally.
Monday - Thursday 9am-6pm Friday 9am-1pm
