SALES MANAGER
Job Summary:
The Sales Manager develops and executes sales strategies, plans, and budgets to grow accounts, recruit new customers, and introduce product initiatives within a defined territory to increase sales and profitability. This role also leads the sales team by hiring, training, coaching, and providing feedback.
Job Duties:
Decision Making & Strategic Planning
- Balances customer needs with revenue, utilization, and profitability.
- Identifies, analyzes, and addresses issues, trends, and opportunities.
- Develops and evaluates options, makes informed decisions, and monitors results.
- Clearly communicates complex ideas and trends.
Delegation & Follow-Up
- Implements a sales mentorship program for onboarding new team members.
- Delegates tasks effectively, defines responsibilities, and sets clear expectations.
- Provides support without micromanaging, builds accountability, and ensures timely follow-ups.
- Offers feedback and coaching to improve performance.
Communication
- Clearly organizes and delivers messages tailored to the audience.
- Engages listeners using analogies, illustrations, and other techniques.
- Ensures understanding, seeks feedback, and promotes effective communication in others.
- Persuades and convinces stakeholders while developing communication skills within the team.
Planning & Organization
- Expands individual account plans into comprehensive sales forecasts.
- Prioritizes tasks, allocates resources, and manages time effectively.
- Schedules milestones, assigns tasks, and keeps the team informed of progress.
- Holds self and others accountable for deadlines and expectations.
Building Trust & Gaining Commitment
- Builds relationships with key customers while supporting the sales team.
- Clearly defines goals and expectations to align team efforts.
- Operates with integrity, treats team members with fairness, and fosters collaboration.
Coaching & Development
- Observes and coaches sales team members during customer interactions.
- Provides instruction, feedback, and learning opportunities.
- Collaborates on development plans, secures resources, and monitors progress.

- Addresses conflicts promptly and objectively, focusing on resolution.
- Practices active listening, remains open to all perspectives, and seeks solutions.

Job Requirements:
- High school diploma/GED required (Bachelor’s preferred).
- Minimum 1 year in a similar role (4 years preferred).
- Minimum 3 years of progressive experience (4 years preferred).
- Required experience in product applications, wholesale distribution, and supervision.
