What are the responsibilities and job description for the Supervisor, Maintenance position at Mastronardi Produce-USA, Inc.?
The Laredo Distribution Center, a refrigerated facility operating 24/7. Due to promotion, we are currently seeking a Maintenance Supervisor-Day Shift to join our team. The essential function of this position is to lead, supervise and train maintenance technicians in daily plant activities and support the Maintenance Manager to ensure plant maintenance is achieved within the guidelines of the organization.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and update plant maintenance procedures and system descriptions.
- In the spirit of continuous improvement, establish and maintain preventive and predictive maintenance support systems, equipment and tools, spare parts and site procurement.
- Coordinate and supervise all functions necessary to ensure the efficient and reliable maintenance of the plant for optimized production levels.
- Supervise, coach, train and develop Maintenance Technicians on assigned shift.
- Develop, refine and administer maintenance training programs.
- Provide performance related feedback and formal evaluations for maintenance personnel.
- Responsible for promoting spirit of teamwork and productivity among maintenance personnel in accordance with Mastronardi Produce system.
- Manage all preventative, predictive and emergency maintenance at facility within safe, legal and contractually permissible limits. Support facility to meet and exceed daily production budget.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate degree or Bachelor’s degree (Electrical, Electronics, Electrical Engineer Technology) preferred.
- 5-10 years’ maintenance experience in a manufacturing plant/production facility with strong working knowledge of electrical maintenance
- Refrigerated/Ammonia Background strongly preferred
- 5 years’ experience supervising, leading, and coaching teams
- 5 years of mechanical aptitude in a maintenance production environment.
- Required knowledge of electrical trouble shooting (VFD, HMI, POC, 3-Phase, Single Phase, AC/DC)
- Ability to partner with cross-functional team in the Production and Quality groups within the facility
- 5 years working with predictive/preventative maintenance tools and procedures
- Must be flexible in work schedule. May be asked to work different days and shifts based on business needs
- Must be able to effectively communicate and possess team player skills
- Experience with scheduling, executing, and accounting for work packages utilizing Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
- Ability to interact with customers in a positive and productive way
- Ability to read and interpret prints and schematics
- Bi-Lingual in Spanish and English is REQUIRED
- Must be flexible in work schedule. May be asked to work different days and shifts based on business needs
- Complete a background check and drug screening
Working Conditions:
- Combination of refrigerated warehouse (80%) and office (20%) environment
- Environment includes an expansive refrigerated warehouse, where the temperature averages 50°F.
- The background noise approaches 70 dcbs.
- Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs. with or without accommodation
- Position requires sitting, standing, walking and bending, squatting, and crawling on a regular basis
