Job Summary
The Production Department Lead is responsible for overseeing and managing all daily activities within the department. This includes ensuring that all production orders are completed according to customer specifications, time, packs, and cost. The incumbent must maintain strict compliance to all Health and Food Safety guidelines, Grade-Out procedures, Production standards, and governmental regulations. Key Responsibilities
• Oversee all activities within the Production department to ensure efficient and effective operations.
• Set and enforce specific performance expectations for Quality, Cost, Organization, and Commitment to the production management team.
• Monitor the status of daily order requirements and ensure order completion to meet ready time within customer specifications.
• Enforce proper packing procedures to meet product specs, costs, and organization.
• Maintain accurate grade-out and recording procedures.
• Maintain a clean and organized department at all times.
• Maintain all departments' activities to meet Health and Food Safety policies.
• Ensure the Commodity Managers' allocations are being followed.
• Provide training and guidance to production management team on customer specs, packing production processes, and health food safety policies.
• Oversee all quality inspection activities within the department.
• Maintain effective communication and teamwork between departments (Shipping, Receiving) to get orders out on time and at the lowest cost.
• Motivate, organize, and encourage teamwork within the Production department.
• Monitor packaging supply inventory and ensure availability to meet daily production requirements.
• Provide regular production reports daily, weekly, and monthly.
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree required, master's degree preferred.
• At least five years' experience in a production environment; produce industry preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to multi-task.
• A proven track record of managing large groups of employees as an active floor manager.
