What are the responsibilities and job description for the Field Technician/Laboratory Assistant position at Mat-Su Test Lab?
- Position: Field Technician/Laboratory Assistant
Location: Palmer, AK
Shift: Part Time, 20-30hrs per week
Duties include:
- Driving and Collecting water samples.
- Organizing monthly collection schedule to maximize driving trips.
- Assisting the laboratory manager with in-house testing.
- Advising and scheduling clients
- Processing and receiving samples.
- Answering phone calls
- Filing and entering sample data into state database
Qualifications:
- At least 18 years of age.
- Must possess a good driving record
- Must have High school diploma or equivalent
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Previous experience in a Lab setting is not a required but recommended.
- Must have excellent time management skills and be able to prioritize tasks.
- Able to follow instructions accurately and complete assigned tasks in a timely manner.
- College degree not required but exposure to college level science courses recommended.
Starting pay is DOE. This position gives the opportunity to gain laboratory experience, potential for gaining state certifications in drinking water testing, and experience with ADEC regulations. We are a close-knit team here at Mat-Su Test Lab. We are looking to add a team member that will thrive in our work environment.

Pay: $15.00 - $19.00 per hour
