Michigan Advanced Technician Training Program (MAT2) is an innovative, industry-driven approach to education. Companies are looking for ambitious and driven individuals looking to embark on an exciting career in advanced manufacturing as a Mechatronics Technician Apprentice.
As a MAT2 Apprentice, you receive on-the-job training, while pursuing an all-expenses-paid AAS Degree at Macomb Community College or Henry Ford College.

What is the MAT2 Apprenticeship Program?
- Three-year “earn while you learn” program. Get paid an hourly wage and as well as a student stipend. Plus a two-year job guarantee after graduating.
- Get your tuition at Macomb Community College or Henry Ford College paid for by your company
- Combination of classes at college (2 days/week) and hands-on training (3 days/week) with a MAT2 Network Company
What are the requirements?
- High School Diploma or GED by June 30th, 2025
- Eligible to work in the United States
- Meet placement requirements for enrollment at Macomb Community College or Henry Ford College
- Veterans are Welcome! MAT2 is G.I. Bill certified
- Reliable transportation and ability to commute to and from work/school
- Employer-specific requirements may apply
- Positions are entry-level
