PURPOSE
This position is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of data entry processes and to provide a wide variety of support within the Finance and Accounting Department.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION
1. Assist with collection and verification of lineman time sheets using established department procedures.
2. Assist with data entry and uploading of lineman time sheets and verifies accuracy.
3. Maintain the confidentiality of payroll data and records.
4. Assist with matching simple routine payable invoices with purchase order and receiving records according to department procedure, follow-up with vendors and internal employees when necessary.
5. Respond to inquiries from vendors and internal employees.
6. Provide clerical support, including copying, scanning, filing, data entry, data requests and other general accounting support, as directed.
7. Provide back up and assistance to other positions, as directed.
8. Prepare monthly employee benefit billing reports and related invoices, as directed.
9. Assist with input of payroll deductions for employee contributions to benefits, as directed.
10. Assist with compiling, collecting, and preparing information relating to special requests and projects.
11. Assist with preparation and maintenance of monthly, quarterly, annual financial and statistical reports, monthly audit work papers, and budget position reports.

ESSENTIAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Qualified candidates are required to have:
- A high school diploma or equivalent; and
- Two (2) years relevant experience.
Relevant post-secondary education may substitute for experience on a year for year basis.
Preference may be given to those candidates with:
- Experience in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience in payroll processing or timekeeping administration.
- Experience in utility accounting.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

EMPLOYMENT STATUS
This position is classified as a non-exempt, represented position, and is eligible for overtime compensation based on both Federal and State of Alaska laws. All Association employees are expected to work widely varying amounts of either (1) unscheduled overtime such as during power restoration activities; or, (2) scheduled overtime required to accomplish special projects.
