This position assists in directing the day-to-day operations of the Borough EMS system.Work is performed and duties are carried out in accordance with established policies, procedures, and Borough core values: Accountability, Customer Focus, Dedication, Integrity, Responsiveness and Teamwork.This is a non-bargaining unit management position.

SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
Assist the EMS Operations Chief to hire, train, assign, schedule, direct, supervise, evaluate and discipline personnel.Assist the EMS Operations Chief in developing and managing operating and project budgets.Assist the EMS Operations Chief in responding to major incidents and functions as an on-scene command officer.Responds to EMS and/or rescue calls to assist ambulance crews in the mitigation of medical emergencies and rescue situations.Assists in reviewing, developing and implementing medical protocols and procedures consistent with national standards.Assist the EMS Operations Chief in managing EMS training functions; directs the provision of applicable and appropriate training; Ensures uninterrupted credentialing of EMS personnel.Maintains DEA Controlled Substance Policy and functions as Narcotics Control Officer (NCO).Manages the EMS Division medical supply and equipment warehouse.Assists in ensuring compliance with medical and treatment protocols.Assist the EMS Operations Chief in supervising the maintenance of ambulance service reports and records, including equipment, training and vehicle records.Assists the EMS Operations Chief in investigating accidents and injuries.Participates in interagency operations and planning.Serves on assigned boards and committees.Evaluates, recommends, and implements new procedures and equipment.When staffing the EOC performs the functions assigned by the Event Commander to efficiently and effectively respond and manage an incident.Ensures compliance with occupational safety and health regulations applicable to area of responsibility, including but not limited to: proper facilitation of Respiratory Protection Program; proper facilitation of Bloodborne Pathogens Program; proper use and maintenance of personal protective equipment; Safety Data Sheet books, inspection reports, training records, and hazard documentation are maintained and up to date; preventive programs and corrective actions are properly implemented.Performs related duties.
