OVERVIEW OF ROLE

Match has an immediate opening for a full-time Speech & Language Pathologist (SLP) or Speech & Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to join the elementary school Special Education Team. The SLP/SLPA will work at Match's elementary school campus (Match Community Day) on 100 Poydras St. in Hyde Park. The SLP will collaborate deeply with other Special Education staff, teachers, and families, to ensure that students with speech and language disorders are identified and provided the highest quality speech and language therapy. The students range in needs, but the work has a focus on receptive, expressive and social language, word relationships, nuances, and improving oral communication. The SLP will report to the Director of Special Education.

The compensation for Match SLP positions ranges from $67,812-$104,899 and is based on a candidate's prior years of teaching experience. Match offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes 90% coverage of health insurance costs and student loan repayment assistance.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The SLP/SLPA has a number of essential responsibilities, including (but not limited to):

  • Provide small group and individual therapy sessions to Match students;
  • Support the school's Special Education programming including, but not limited to: completion of necessary reports and filings, management of parent and student communication, administration of student testing/screening, and upholding of applicable Department of Elementary and Secondary Education compliance requirements.
  • Uphold high academic and behavioral expectations for students, and provide lots of support for getting students there;
  • Participate actively in Match's coaching and professional development programming;
  • Assist with school programming as needed during non-instructional time; and
  • Serve as a positive and collaborative member of the Match Charter Public School community

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for SLP/SLPA applicants who:

  • have at least two years of full-time experience as an SLP/SLPA, preferably in an urban education setting;
  • hold a valid and appropriate license issued by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education;
  • believe that all students can and will succeed; and
  • desire to continually improve their practice as an educator by taking and implementing feedback; have a proven record of student success and achievement.
