About Matchbook Learning
Matchbook Learning is a non-profit charter management organization based in Indianapolis, Indiana. We operate two schools : Matchbook Learning at Wendell Phillips School 63, serving students in Kindergarten through 8th grade, and The Match High School and Career Center, which currently serves 9th grade students and will expand to include 9th and 10th grade students in the fall of 2025.

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and passionate Engineering Instructor to join our educational team at The Match High School and Career Center for the 2025-2026 school year.
Position Overview
The ideal candidate for the Engineering Instructor position will have a strong background in engineering principles and a desire to inspire students through hands-on learning and real-world applications. This role will focus on the Computer Aided Engineering pathway as listed in NLPS. This position offers an exciting opportunity to engage students in STEM education and prepare them for future careers in engineering. This role also teaches Computer Science courses.
Key Responsibilities
These are the key responsibilities of an Engineering Instructor. Engineering Instructors may have other duties as assigned.
- Teach engineering courses, including but not limited to principles of engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, and systems design.
- Develop and implement innovative curriculum and lesson plans that foster problem-solving, creativity, and critical thinking.
- Provide hands-on learning experiences, including lab work, engineering projects, and simulations.
- Assess and evaluate student progress through assignments, projects, and exams, providing constructive feedback to support student success.
- Maintain a safe and supportive classroom environment where students can actively engage and collaborate.
- Collaborate with other educators to integrate engineering concepts across disciplines and promote STEM education.
- Participate in school events, meetings, professional development, and committees as needed.
- Support extracurricular activities, such as engineering clubs or competitions, to further enrich student learning and development.
