The Position :
The Purchasing Manager will oversee sourcing, vendor management, and procurement operations. This role includes managing a purchasing team of 4-6 individuals, ensuring timely order processing and delivery, improving vendor relationships, and achieving cost savings. The ideal candidate will align with the companys mission, values, and goals while driving efficiency and innovation in purchasing processes.
Responsibilities :
- Oversee the Purchasing department and its personnel.
- Craft and execute negotiation strategies to secure optimal terms.
- Achieve a 98% on-time service rate for internal customers.
- Reduce total costs through effective bidding and volume contracts.
- Assist in implementing new systems and improving current processes with the Controller and CFO.
- Develop and maintain strong vendor relationships, emphasizing local partnerships.
- Forecast market trends to navigate changes in buyer-supplier dynamics.
- Manage inventory levels and warehouse space for parts and supplies.
- Coordinate purchasing for major projects and contribute to financial ROI goals.
- Support the companys goal of becoming waste-free within five years.
- Ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards.
- Perform other assigned duties as necessary.
