The Position:
The Project Manager will monitor and control every aspect of a job from communicating with the field supervisors to managing clients and schedules with the project team.
Responsibilities:
- Daily management of projects, documentation (RFI’s, Submittals, Transmittals), coordination with other subcontractors, clients, stakeholders, suppliers and internal employees
- Develop, design and maintain overall schedule for projects
- Take ownership for every aspect of a project including tracking progress against goals, objectives, timelines and budget
- Manage project team by providing direction, strategy, and leadership
- Facilitate client meetings regarding project matters
- Negotiate cost-effective services and material purchases
- Implement job specific procedures and techniques to assure timely shop drawing approval and material delivery
- Work with superintendents to develop and implement safety plans
- Maintain timely and accurate reporting to management
- Review contract conditions; ensure compliance with all contract terms
- Support estimators in preparation of bid packages
- Maintain quality control (integrity and excellence of completed project)
- Complete all job close-out procedures and conduct warranty follow-up
Qualifications:
- Dedicated, hardworking, and good-natured
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Highly motivated and enjoys hands-on work
- Applicant must have an engineering or applicable degree
- Knowledge of CAD software
- Exceptional 3-dimensional visualization skills
- Comfortable taking field measurements, transferring them to a 3D computer model, and creating detailed drawings
- Ability to understand and discuss with structural engineers the critical aspects of a design
- The inclination to propose design improvements to the fabrication or installation of the structure
- Construction experience is required
- Comfortable interfacing with shop and field foremen
- Well organized and solution oriented
- Ability to manage multiple clients and jobs effectively
- Execution on projects from start to finish
- Comfortable leading construction crews in the fabrication/installation of designs
