The Position:
Ambleside is seeking a 12th Grade Teacher who is passionate about both formation and education. This role is an invitation to guide students as they grapple with big ideas, examine contemporary issues through the lens of timeless truths, and prepare to step into the world with wisdom, humility, and conviction. Our high school classrooms are relational, rigorous, and deeply rooted in truth, goodness, and beauty.
Responsibilities:
- Create a warm, orderly classroom where students are seen, challenged, and invited to grow in intellect and character
- Teach across a liberal arts curriculum, incorporating rich texts, primary sources, and Socratic discussion
- Encourage thoughtful habits through practices like narration, nature study, and written reflection
- Integrate faith into daily learning, helping students make meaningful connections between their studies and their spiritual life
- Communicate regularly with parents and participate in the life of the school community
- Collaborate with fellow teachers and leadership to ensure alignment with the Charlotte Mason method
- Engage in ongoing formation and professional development
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in education or a related humanities or science field; advanced degree or teaching experience is a plus
- A growing and mature Christian faith, with a desire to mentor students in both academics and life
- Strong alignment with the vision and values of a Charlotte Mason education (experience with the method is welcome but not required well help you grow!)
- Intellectual curiosity and a love for learning across disciplines
- Excellent classroom presence and communication skills
- Teachable, collaborative, and eager to be part of a deeply invested team
