The Organization :
With over 75 years of team experience, Treatment Technology has the resources to solve any water or wastewater treatment need. They are a Colorado leader in chemical sales and contract operations for water districts of any and all sizes including special districts, towns, municipalities even independent hotels and townhomes. Based in Frederick, CO, they provide a full line of water and wastewater treatment chemicals, pool chemicals, industrial chemicals, specialty polymers, oil & gas chemicals, and laundry chemicals.
The Position :
As a trusted expert in water and wastewater treatment, the Technical Solutions Lead provides hands-on client support, conducts on-site testing, and recommends tailored chemical solutions. This role blends technical expertise with customer engagement, ensuring optimal treatment outcomes across Colorado and Wyoming.
Responsibilities :
- Approach client interactions, including conducting on-site jar testing and addressing specific water treatment challenges. Collaborates confidently with customers in the field to diagnose issues, explain technical processes, and recommend tailored solutions.
- Consulting with clients to understand their needs and provide tailored chemical recommendations that optimize treatment processes and outcomes.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills, offering practical solutions to challenges. Proactively assists clients and team members by identifying issues, diagnosing root causes, and providing actionable recommendations to improve processes and outcomes.
- Willing to travel throughout Colorado and Wyoming, visiting wastewater treatment facilities and providing on-site support (potential of 1-2 overnights per month).
- Provides technical support in sales and customer engagement.
Qualifications :
Bachelors Degree : A degree in Chemistry, Environmental Science, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related field. Open to the right candidate whose field experience and knowledge of water and wastewater chemistry / industry is comprehensive.Jar Testing & pH Testing : Comfortable with conducting jar tests and blending products for water and wastewater treatment.Chemistry Knowledge : Strong understanding of how coagulants (e.g., ACH, PAC, alum) and polymers interact with both organic and inorganic particles in water.Chemical Applications : Familiarity with how chemicals are applied at each stage of the water treatment process (coagulation, flocculation, sedimentation, filtration).Biological Knowledge : Knowledge of the role and use of microorganisms in wastewater treatment (e.g., bugs and microbes).Equipment Understanding : Familiar with mechanical and chemical equipment used in water treatment, such as anaerobic digesters, and their roles in the process.Compliance / Regulatory : Strong knowledge of industry regulations (NSF, EPA, CDPA) and possesses the ability to recommend solutions to ensure compliance.Lab Environment : Enjoys working in a lab setting, with the ability to discuss system processes and chemical traits, while also providing solutions or testing for customers.Bonus Skills
Industry Experience : Preferably in Water & Wastewater, but experience in Oil & Gas and an interest in other chemistries are a plus.Supplier Relationships : Uses an in-depth understanding of the supplier landscape to evaluate options, negotiate effectively, and recommend long-term partnerships.Product Line Development : Excited about contributing to the growth and expansion of a new product line.Consulting on Compliance : Able to help customers resolve compliance issues by performing testing, monitoring, and submitting applications to regulatory bodiesBusiness Generation : Enjoys finding new business opportunities and leveraging networks to spur new business.Salary & Benefits :
Base Salary : $80,000-$120,000Commission & Incentives : Base salary with a performance-based commission structure.Benefits Package : Health, dental, and vision insurance, along with retirement plan options.
