Job Title: Electro-Mechanical Technician II
Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair CNC machines in a timely manner to minimize machine downtime. This role demands broad technical knowledge of electromechanical principles and good working knowledge of manufacturing machines and processes.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Apply extensive knowledge of CNC machines.
- Disassemble, maintain, and repair systems of equipment such as power supplies, monitors, scaling devices, servomechanisms, and mechanical components.
- Repair electronic and electromechanical control equipment associated with automated machine tools and servomechanisms.
- Use test instruments to diagnose, test machine problems, and evaluate operation variations; replace or repair parts, test, and make adjustments as required.
- Replace, adjust, and calibrate components to align control apparatus to operating specifications. Align machine axis and machine systems.
- Perform regular preventative maintenance on machines, equipment, and facilities.
- Work from complicated drawings, diagrams, and specifications involving electrics, mechanics, and electronics.
- Lay out, assemble, install, and maintain plumbing, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electric systems.
- Requisition materials to accomplish repairs and maintenance as required.
- Communicate with vendors and machine builders; work closely with and coordinate procedures with engineers and mechanics on the installation of new equipment and modifications of equipment to suit needs and applications.
- Create electrical circuits for special needs or purposes.
- Design, install, and program logic devices.
- Plan for and move/rearrange equipment and devices ensuring proper consideration and conformance to OSHA safety and health requirements.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Trade school certificate and/or degree in a mechanical or electrical-related field with emphasis on CNC Machines preferred; or 3-5 years' work experience or combination of trade school and work experience repairing and maintaining the electronics of CNC controls in lieu of degree is desired.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
- Work independently or in a team setting.
- Knowledge of algebra and trigonometry is highly preferred.
- Possess mechanical and deductive reasoning skills.
- Demonstrate integrity and respect, dependability, honesty, and accountability.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
- Frequent walking, standing, bending, and stooping.
- Use of hands and fingers.
- Frequently lift, move, push, and pull up to 60 pounds.
- Reach with hands and arms.
- Noise level is moderate.
- Occasional exposure to fumes or airborne particles.
