Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Documentation Specialist to join our team at Matec Instrument Companies, Inc.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in technical writing and experience with content authoring tools. As a Documentation Specialist, you will be responsible for creating high-quality documentation for our ultrasonic imaging and nondestructive testing systems.
About the Role
This is an excellent opportunity for a collaborative individual who enjoys simplifying complex scientific and technical concepts into easy-to-understand documents. You will work closely with software engineers to develop, edit, and refine all software documentation for system control and analysis.
Key Responsibilities
- Create technical documentation, including user manuals, troubleshooting guides, and maintenance procedures.
- Collaborate with engineering resources to gather information and develop diagnostic service procedures.
- Interpret blueprints and engineering specifications to ensure accurate documentation.
- Manage new and existing documentation to ensure relevance and accuracy.
- Develop marketing materials for print and digital ad campaigns.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing, Engineering, or Computer Science.
- 3-5 years of experience in technical writing, preferably with a mechanical or electrical focus.
- Understanding of machine operating principles.
- Experience with Madcap Flare or other XML content authoring tools.
- Excellent grammar and proofreading skills.
- Demonstrated ability to explain complex information in a clear and concise manner.
