Responsibilities Of a Matec Mechanical Tech.
- Assembly and Fabrication: Assemble fabricated and purchased parts using assembly drawings and parts lists provided by engineering
- Mechanical Modifications: Implement mechanical alterations and additions during debugging to ensure optimal functionality
- Collaboration: Work closely with mechanical and controls engineers to ensure machines operate properly and meet design specifications
- Non-Repetitive Assembly: Perform various non-repetitive mechanical assembly functions using hand or power tools, ensuring precision and quality
- Machine and Sub-Assembly Construction: Build machines and sub-assemblies to design requirements and customer specifications, adhering to quality standards
- Testing and Documentation: Utilize test equipment to perform functional testing, record appropriate documentation, and maintain accurate test data
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of manufacturing machine build/assembly experience
- Travel Requirements: Ability to travel up to 30% without restriction, including some international travel
- Technical Skills: Strong maintenance and mechanical background with versatility in and around a manufacturing environment
- Equipment Proficiency: Knowledge of machine assembly and experience with machine shop equipment such as drill presses, grinders, metal saws, and a variety of hand tools
- Industry Experience: Experience with mechanical assembly and maintenance in the automation industry is preferred
