Responsibilities of a Matec Millwright
- Installation and Assembly: Assemble and install machinery and equipment using hand tools, power tools, and hoisting equipment. Ensure accurate alignment and fit of components.
- Maintenance and Repair: Inspect machinery to diagnose malfunctions. Perform preventive maintenance and repair or replace defective parts. Utilize tools such as micrometers and calipers for precise measurements.
- Blueprint Interpretation: To determine work procedures, read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and schematic drawings. Plan and layout installation and repair tasks accordingly.
- Equipment Relocation: Dismantle and move machinery and equipment as required. Use rigging and hoisting devices to position equipment accurately.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols. Conduct regular safety inspections and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, maintenance personnel, and other team members to resolve issues and improve processes.
Qualifications:
- Travel Requirements: Ability to travel up to 30% without restriction, including some international travel.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of a recognized apprenticeship program or technical school training in industrial mechanics or a related field.
- Experience: Proven experience as a millwright or similar role in an industrial setting. Familiarity with a variety of machinery and mechanical systems.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical documents and blueprints.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with welding, fabrication, and the use of machine tools.
- Ability to use precision measurement tools effectively.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively.
