Job Summary
Forklift Operators are responsible for moving freight. This position is accountable for safe practices while meeting deadlines outlined by supervisor and managers.
Duties/Responsibilities

- Operate and maneuver forklifts to move freight safely.
- Scan products and follow instructions for the task.
- Report/resolve concerns with help from lead or supervisor.
- Unload or load materials out or in of equipment and lanes.
- Required to perform job duties of Material Handler for production flow as directed by supervisor.
- Able to help where needed per supervisor and managers request
Required Skills/Abilities
- Strong attention to details while moving at a fast pace.
- Awareness of surroundings is a requirement while performing this job.
- Able to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Able to use and operate scanners, walkies and other business equipment.
- Able to proficiently navigate computers and computer applications.
- Able to do basic addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
Work environment
Extreme weather conditions may occur with exposure to temperature and noise level variations. Fast paced environment.
Physical demands
Able to sit for long periods of time.
Requires ability to team lift 50 pounds occasionally and solo lift 25 pounds frequently (may lift above 50 pounds with adequate assistances or mechanical aid).
Requires performing physical activity using your entire body including standing, stooping, kneeling, bending.
Ability to see, smell, speak, touch, feel and utilize finger dexterity and limb coordination.
Ability to read, write, speak and hear in English.
Participation in hearing conservation program, as necessitated by process determined with safety team.
Required education and experience
- Able to pass the forklift operation test within the first 3 days as outlined by forklift evaluation.
Preferred experience
- Previous experience operating forklift in a similar setting.
Work authorization/security clearance requirements
Must be eligible to prove ability to work legally in the United States.
