Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled General Laborer with experience in commercial siding and roofing to join our team in Pittsburgh. This role involves assisting in various construction tasks, particularly focusing on siding and roofing projects. Upon completion of the current project, there will be an opportunity to transition into our fabrication department, allowing for further skill development and career advancement within the company.
Duties
- Assist in the installation and repair of commercial siding and roofing systems.
- Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment necessary for construction projects.
- Operate hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure projects are completed efficiently and to high-quality standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety protocols and regulations.
- Prepare and clean job sites before and after projects.
- Assist in measuring, cutting, and assembling materials as required.
- Upon project completion, transition into the fabrication department to assist with the creation and assembly of components.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in commercial siding and/or roofing.
- Ability to lift heavy materials and perform physical labor for extended periods.
- Proficiency in using various hand and power tools.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks, especially when transitioning to the fabrication department.
- Valid driver's license preferred.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in fabrication or a strong interest in developing skills in this area.
- Familiarity with safety protocols and regulations in construction settings.
- Basic mathematical skills for measuring and cutting materials accurately.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Comfortable working at heights and in various weather conditions.
- Capable of standing, bending, and kneeling for extended periods.
