Join us!Learn more about the general tasks related to this opportunity below, as well as required skills.The Environmental, Health and Safety Manager will plan, administer, and supervise an ongoing environmental, safety, and health program in accordance with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, USEPA, Arizona State Department of Environmental Protection requirements and applicable Federal, State, and Local regulations as well as Materion's EHS systems, processes and programs. Lead and oversee Environmental, Safety, Industrial Hygiene and Occupational Health programs. This position will be directly responsible for providing leadership, direction, and support to Tucson operations in Environmental, Safety, Industrial Hygiene and Occupational Health arenas. The position supports the site's EHS efforts to protect employees and the Company against harm, to maintain safe working conditions and reduce our environmental footprint; formulates and implements work standards and enforces procedures; identifies risk prevention areas including hazardous materials exposure, accidents, fires, or other unsafe conditions; ensures compliance and reporting requirements of all applicable federal or state regulations.You will have the opportunity to : Conduct risk assessments of potentially hazardous tasks or conditions and design interventionsLead investigations of all accidents and injuries making recommendations for corrective actionMaintain an on-going incident prevention management system. Inspect and tour facility to detect existing or potential physical and health hazards and recommend corrective or preventive actionManage and have overall responsibility of environmental compliance under ISO 14001 requirementsAssist with maintaining Site Preparedness and Emergency Plans & ProceduresOversee and audit compliance with hazardous and universal waste requirements, air and water permit compliance, storm water contamination prevention and relevant Department of Homeland Security requirementsDevelop budgets and manage activities to accomplish financial objectives, including continuous improvement measures that increase overall productivity while reducing costsREQUIREMENTSBachelor's degree in environmental engineering or sciences, occupational health, biology, chemistry, chemical engineering, or mechanical engineering / physics or equivalent degreeCSP, CHMM and / or CIH certification preferredA minimum 10 years of experience in the field of Environmental, Health & Safety management with a track record of consistent improvement in EHS objectivesA minimum 8 years of experience in designing / managing programs aimed at ensuring compliance with federal and state regulatory EHSS agenciesExperience with environmental water and air permit compliance; EPA regulations on Storm Water Pollution Prevention and Toxic Substance Control Act; ISO 14001; OSHA safety and health regulations and policies relevant to the metals industry; MSHA regulation and training requirementsA minimum 10 years of EH&S experience within a manufacturing environment preferredPrevious managerial experience#LI-AS1HPThe selection of the person to be hired for this position is contingent on the candidate having export compliance eligibility for access to U.S. controlled technology which comes under the licensing jurisdiction of the U.S. Department of State, International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the U.S. Department of Commerce, Export Administration Regulations (EAR).The candidate selected will have to qualify as either a U.S. citizen, a U.S. National, a lawful permanent resident of the U.S., a Person Admitted into the U.S. as an Asylee or Refugee., a National of a country that is not prohibited from having access to U.S. controlled technology (via a letter of assurance), or a Person to be approved for an export license by the governing agency whose technology comes under its jurisdiction.
