Performs data management of beryllium-containing samples from the time the samples are submitted from production to final certification of results to the customer. Provides secretarial and clerical services to department members.
You will have the opportunity to:
- Receives samples of beryllium and beryllium oxide, and assigns laboratory test numbers and specifications. Also determines which elements are to be analyzed and by which method based on specification review and requirements.
- Results of chemical analysis, tensile properties and any special tests are submitted to the Quality Specialist for recording. If any out-of-specification data is noted, resamples or retests are requested.
- Data from all tests are evaluated against required specifications and made ready for certification. This includes beryllium metal and beryllium oxide, and beryllium alloys. The shipping release for finished parts is reviewed against the sales order and a certification of compliance is prepared.
- The certification data is reviewed against the appropriate specification. If any item does not meet specifications it is brought to the attention of the Quality Assurance supervisor, otherwise the certification is ready for signature. If any required test is missing, a request is submitted for that test and the certification is held until the required test is received and evaluated.
- Contacts various levels of company personnel to obtain or provide information required for department operations.
- Maintains control over security documents, and special department reports to assure proper security.
- Maintains office supplies and makes necessary service contracts to keep office equipment in operation.
- Schedules meetings, travel and lodging for departmental personnel and their visitors.
- Prepares all documents for the Standard Operating Procedures program. Coordinates the routing, control, and issuance of the procedures.
- Prepares all documents for the specifications and “short form” program.
- Prepared other typewritten correspondence, reports, memoranda, schedules or dictation received from departmental personnel. Originates correspondence independently when requested.
- Collects, sorts, and distributes departmental mail.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
- 2-years degree in business or science.
- Must have skills in basic chemistry and math.
- Two or more years experience in an industrial office required
The selection of the person to be hired for this position is contingent on the candidate having export compliance eligibility for access to U.S. controlled technology which comes under the licensing jurisdiction of the U.S. Department of State, International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the U.S. Department of Commerce, Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
The candidate selected will have to qualify as either a U.S. citizen, a U.S. National, a lawful permanent resident of the U.S., a Person Admitted into the U.S. as an Asylee or Refugee., a National of a country that is not prohibited from having access to U.S. controlled technology (via a letter of assurance), or a Person to be approved for an export license by the governing agency whose technology comes under its jurisdiction.
