Matern Staffing is hiring a Production Supervisor for a fire-retardant treated wood plant in Bowling Green, VA, where you'll help shape a culture of safety and environmental responsibility that supports the building industry.
This role plays a key part in driving efficient plant production and material movement while maintaining a strong focus on safety compliance. You’ll take charge of managing the yard, coordinating material flow, and strategically planning the use of resources, including personnel, to ensure smooth, productive, and high-quality operations. Salary:
$60,000K - $82,500K
Schedule:
1st shift hours: 10-hour days, 7 am - 5:30 pm, shifts can change depending on production schedules
What You’ll Do:
- Ensures compliance with all environmental and safety procedures and addresses any unsafe or non-compliant activities
- Oversees production to meet goals, including downtime, productivity, lead time, and quality standards
- Supervises, trains, and develops team members, including conducting performance reviews, managing schedules, and addressing attendance or performance issues
- Monitors and enforces company policies, procedures, and objectives while coordinating product movement through warehouse locations
- Assists in hiring, training, and terminating employees, ensuring proper onboarding and adherence to safety procedures
- Maintains yard organization, housekeeping, and supports efforts to improve production methods, equipment performance, and efficiency
What You’ll Need:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Minimum of one year of supervisory experience
- Strong problem-solving, adaptability, and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with diverse teams
- Ability to lead, influence, and inspire others while maintaining high standards of personal accountability
- Proven ability to manage time, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines efficiently
- Comfortable using Google Drive, Windows-based programs, word processors, and email
- Bilingual candidates preferred
