As a Principal Consultant – Engineering Services & Solutions (ESS), you will play a strategic leadership role, leading large-scale data and engineering projects for our CPG and Retail clients. You will be responsible for shaping data-driven transformations, managing P&L ownership, and driving client growth.
This role requires strong leadership to guide Associate Principals, Engagement Managers, and broader teams both onshore and offshore, ensuring high-quality delivery and scalable solutions. You will act as a trusted advisor to senior client stakeholders, translating business challenges into engineering and data solutions that drive measurable impact.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Client Management
- Own and drive P&L for assigned accounts, ensuring revenue growth and operational efficiency.
- Serve as the strategic partner for CPG and Retail clients, leading end-to-end data engineering and AI transformation initiatives.
- Establish and nurture CXO-level relationships, understanding client objectives and translating them into actionable roadmaps.
- Identify and capitalize on business development opportunities, expanding our footprint within existing and new client accounts.
Project & Team Leadership
- Lead and mentor onshore teams, including Associate Principals, Engagement Managers, and data engineering specialists, ensuring project success and talent development.
- Partner with global delivery teams offshore to ensure seamless execution, high-quality delivery, and cost efficiency.
- Spearhead the design and implementation of scalable, enterprise-level data platforms, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and emerging technologies.
- Guide teams in solving complex data engineering challenges, optimizing data pipelines, cloud architecture, and AI/ML deployment.
Growth & Innovation
- Drive continuous improvement by leveraging emerging cloud, AI, and data engineering technologies to enhance client solutions.
- Collaborate with internal product teams to maximize the adoption of proprietary MathCo capabilities.
- Foster an environment of innovation, collaboration, and technical excellence across teams.
Required Qualifications
- 15 years of experience in leading and scaling large-scale data engineering and AI engagements, with a track record of successful leadership in consulting or Fortune 500 organizations.
- Proven expertise in driving P&L ownership, managing multi-million-dollar client portfolios, and expanding client relationships.
- Strong networking and relationship-building skills, particularly in executive-level client interactions.
- Experience leading cross-functional and cross-cultural teams, with a balance of technical expertise and business acumen.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity and change, translating complex business challenges into scalable data and analytics solutions.
- Hands-on experience with data engineering, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), and enterprise-scale AI/ML deployment is a plus.
- Must be onsite four days a week to drive client engagement and ensure strategic alignment.
