The role of the accountant involves providing financial and administrative support to the organization. Perform a variety of routine and non-routine accounting functions with significant focus on general ledger accounting.

- Manage the integration of all financial data from Salesforce CRM into Sage Intacct accounting system.
- Manage all general ledger accounting functions including but not limited to journal entries: processing, recording and reconciling financial transactions.
- Manage accounts receivable, prepare invoices, apply payments to open invoices and ensure accurate posting to the accounts receivable ledger.
- Perform ongoing general ledger account analysis for discrepancies.
- Manage the accuracy of bank deposits originating from various e-commerce platforms, perform bank reconciliations for various accounts and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Manage the month-end and year-end closing process, including the supervision of collections, the review of fixed assets, sales and use taxes, personal property taxes, franchise taxes.
- Assist in the preparation of various monthly financial reports, such as program specific financial statements and distribution to internal stakeholders.
- Assist in variance to budget analyses for income statement accounts and month to month variances for balance sheet accounts.
- Maintain and update internal process documentation for accounting procedures and policies.
- Identify capacities for automation, leveraging technology, and bringing innovative ideas and approaches to existing processes.
- Prepare schedules and supporting data in conjunction with the issuance of annual financial statements and tax filings as requested.
- Prepare data and schedules for audit requests during interim and year-end audit cycles in support of external audits.
- Track and maintain fixed asset ledger by coordinating with IT, prepare schedules for reporting of fixed assets.
- Payroll administration and ancillary benefits allocations with support of HR staff, prepare data postings and reconciliation of payroll transactions.
- Reconcile 941 filings and ensure compliance with payroll tax regulations.
- Provide ad-hoc financial analysis and support for special projects assigned by the CFO.
Experience
- 7 years of relevant work experience in accounting
- Experience with using Fonteva Salesforce CRM financial output to develop detailed ledger entries
- Experience with Sage Intacct accounting software
- Experience with non-profit accounting including those rules specific to restricted and federal grant funding
- Experience with cloud-based accounts payable processing, preferably Bill.com
- Experience with Paylocity (or similar) payroll software
- Experience with PayPal Manager
- Expert Microsoft Excel skills
- Advanced knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

- Ability to proficiently develop timelines for recurring assignments and projects, coordinating with team members and business stakeholders, and ensuring timely completion of tasks.
