Shop Janitor

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Shop Janitor helps maintain the cleanliness, appearance, and general safety of the shop, including the restrooms. He or she works with minimal supervision to ensure his or her assigned areas are maintained in a sanitary, orderly, and attractive condition by performing various tasks using the necessary equipment and supplies.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Cleans daily all assigned areas
• Cleans and sanitizes restrooms/bathrooms using established practices and procedures
• Refinishes hard surface floors and cleans carpeted areas as scheduled or needed
• Maintains clean, organized work areas and securely stores equipment and supplies
• Completes any reports or logs
• Reports equipment malfunctions, injuries, and accidents to the supervisor
• Performs other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• One year of relevant experience
• Unrestricted driver's license and clean driving record
• Forklift experience preferred
• Knowledge of commercial cleaning, hard floor care, carpet care, upholstery cleaning, and window washing
• Safety and customer service oriented
• Able to follow spoken and written instructions
• Able to work without direct supervision
• Able to bend, kneel, squat, stand, and lift heavy objects as needed
