What are the responsibilities and job description for the Program Assistant - Virtual Programs position at matherheadquarters?
The Community Initiatives Program Assistant, Virtual Programs, contributes to achieving the Mather Community Initiatives’ vision of “an equitable society in which all older adults find wellness opportunities and resources to thrive within their communities.”
This role further supports the Community Initiatives’ goal of serving older adults through Creative Arts and Wellness programs, with a focus on virtual (online) programs. The person in this role assists with all day-to-day activities related to Community Initiatives' virtual programs, including communication with participants, assisting program facilitators in online programs, and tracking/reporting participation.
This position is full-time, hourly, hybrid, and requires occasional work (up to 2 days/week) at Mather Headquarters in Evanston, Illinois. This position requires evening and weekend availability. See schedule pattern below:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Support program implementation via Zoom/video technology (e.g., admit participants, respond to questions entered in the Chat)
- Communicate with virtual program participants to confirm registration, send needed materials, and answer questions
- Gather and report feedback to improve future programs
- Assist in managing Creative Community Facebook group (e.g., respond to participant posts, post prompts to create engagement)
- Cross check registration platform with website to ensure accuracy
- Assist in preparing materials (e.g., monthly program calendar) to be posted on the Mather website
- Prep assemble art supplies for virtual programs
- Support other program-related efforts as needed
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
Required:
- Minimum of Bachelor’s degree
- 2 years work experience in an administrative or program support role involving online programs or use of technology (Zoom, social media, other technology)
- Strong verbal and written communications skills
- Competence in basic functions in social media, including Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office program including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Able to use Zoom.
- Detail oriented, goal-driven and motivated to meet targets and deadlines
The hourly base wage range is a good faith estimate of the range Mather reasonably expects to pay for this position at the time of the posting. The actual hourly base wage paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to specific skills or certifications, years of experience, geographic location and market changes. The position is also eligible to participate in Mather benefit plans.
Hourly Pay Range
$25.75 - $31 USD
