Position Title: Forklift Operator

We are seeking an experienced Forklift operator with experience in the lumber industry.

The role of forklift operator entails several duties, tasks, and responsibilities in ensuring effective loading and unloading of lumber and building materials.

Who are we?

We are a privately held organization headquartered in Woodinville, Washington that specializes in selling lumber on a wholesale basis to customers in multi-family, commercial, and residential construction industries. We operate branches throughout the Unites States that provide wood and related building material products to customers at job sites. Our primary customers are framers and general contractors.

Role Overview

This is an hourly non-exempt, full-time position targeted at 40 hours per week.

This role reports to the Yard Manager of the Matheus Lumber’s Ogden, Utah branch. This role supports product deliveries out of the Utah Branch to ensure the timely execution of customer orders.

Specific duties include:

· Operate in accordance with OSHA forklift rules and regulations.

· Load and unload materials from trucks.

· Preparing orders as described in dispatch ticket

· Assist with inventory counts

· Perform quality and inventory checks on incoming materials

· Pack goods in the warehouse by hand when the situation demands.

· Carry out simple maintenance on the forklift, like washing, checking fluids, and refueling.

· Identify and report mechanical issues to the supervisor.

Desired qualifications:

• Preferably two years of driving, forklift and lumber experience.
• Outstanding individual and team performer
• Excellent physical condition
• Strong math and measurement skills
• Fast learner with the ability to work well with others.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with ability to interact with team members and customers on all levels.
• Willingness to contribute towards building an energetic and exciting organization.

Compensation:

The hourly pay rate for this role is $30 to $35 per hour depending on experience and qualifications. The role does qualify for a discretionary bonus, based on the organizational and individual performance.
